What can you buy for $10?

Think of all you can do with your $10.00.

Now, think, "Do I want to have to spend that $10.00 on my ScrapFest Registration?"

Because, just as a reminder, the rates for ScrapFest 2011 are going up on January 1 - January 30 and you should spend your $10.00 on a lunch with your girlfriends instead of having to have it cost more for you to come to ScrapFest 2011.

Remember, it's a 2 part registration, so click on the payment AND to fill out the survey.

And don't forget to book your rooms peeps!

Hope your Christmas was merry and bright and your New Year includes keeping that $10.00 in your pocket!

Recession Style Give Aways

Yeah, let's admit it. We all love a gift card. All the excitement of money to spend that doesn't really come from your pocket. And that's how we'll be rollin' at ScrapFest 2011. Give-Aways of cash (well, of gift cards, at least.) Remember, the price has been lowered for more to join in the fun, so spread the word. Only a limited number of fun people will be able to come since registration is filling fast :)

2 part registration

Hey fun people registering for ScrapFest 2011!!! Don't forget this party has a 2 step registration process. One part is where you fill out the survey form (click on the link on the right) so I can have your contact information and know who you want to sit by (*TRES IMPORTANT!*). The second part is where you click on the link to pay yo money. If you've "registered" for ScrapFest and gotten your name on the magical list [scroll down on the blog page and you'll be listed on the right] then it means you were successful on both parts of the registration. HOWEVER, some of you have paid your money (*GRACIAS!*), but failed to give me your survey/form/registration. I'm not asking for your social security number, first born, or your blood type, so hurry and do that so I can add you to the list of WAY FUN PEOPLE WHO ARE COMING THIS YEAR! Getting VERY excited :)

ScrapFest 2011 . . . Recession Style

Well ladies. The time has come again for us to make the annual pilgrimage to St. George, UT for ScrapFest 2011. Can you believe it? I can't seem to wrap my brain around the fact that it's been an entire YEAR since we sat around, played with paper and crafted, captured memories, and made some more of our own memories at ScrapFest 2010. But alas, the year has flown by, and it's time to get our duckies all lined up for ScrapFest 2011. Quack! Quack! ;)

This year, we're making some minor changes in ScrapFest. Mainly, trimming some of the fat (oh no, not the treat situation... there'll be plenty-o-fat there) by reducing the cost of ScrapFest 2011. As much fun as the drawings and contests are, most of us are more interested in the get-away and the shopping and the lounging and the good times with our girlfriends. And if that's not enough to have you register, there IS the enormous sense of accomplishment for actually getting some scrapbooking done or finishing a crafty project you started way back when while spending the weekend at ScrapFest. By trimming the registration fee, we'll be eliminating MOST of the drawings for prizes. {I know, insert a little disappointment } The good news is, all the best, always-guaranteed parts will still be included in your registration fee. You'll still have a welcome gift, plenty of space to do your thang, tons of snacks and water service, and the great times with your friends/family-who-are-also-your-friends/strangers-who-become-your-friends-by-the-time-the-weekend-is-over. Woo Hoo!!!

Sooo, now what? You're convinced you wanna come and you've cleared your schedule for the weekend, so now you register. On the right sidebar at the very top, there's TWO things you need to complete in order to register for ScrapFest 2011. FIRST click on the register link and fill out the survey form to give us your much-needed info. THEN decided on whether you want to come all day Friday, February 11, 2011 [10am-4pm] (Early Bird Crop) for $25.00 or to the main event from Friday at 5pm until the wee hours of Saturday night (ScrapFest) for $45.00 OR to both the events for $70.00. Select your option BEFORE hitting the BUY NOW button!!! You will pay through paypal (totally safe and paper free) and then I will be notified that you've registered and paid. If you scroll down you'll see a list of "WHO's COMING to SCRAPFEST 2011" and when your name is placed on that list, it'll serve as your receipt that you are in to this most prestigious and exciting event. **On January 1, 2011, the prices for each event will be increased by $10.00 until January 30, 2011 which will be the cut-off for registrations.** Pretty much the early bird gets a cheaper worm, so register NOW!!!

This year, we are planning on only allowing 70 people because we want everyone to be comfortable and happy and able to their magical creative things with room to still move and mingle. (Plus, let's face it, some of us bring A LOT of stuff that needs its space too.) SO, register early and then call your friends or forward the blog link to them and have them sign up. It's always sad to turn people away who REALLY wanna come but didn't make the cut... AND since it's cheaper this year, we're planning on it being more accessible to more people, so get yourselves registered. PRONTO.

If, for any reason, you need a refund of your ScrapFest registration, requests must be submitted to in writing before January 15, 2011 (a comment on this blog requesting a refund will suffice.) I know sometimes things come up and you might not be able to make it, even though you've registered, and either you'd like your money back OR to transfer your registration to someone else. All transfers will be accepted UNTIL February 1, 2011. This allows time for planning/printing changes.

So, let's review what you're paying for this year:

*Table space (appx. 4 ft. table space)

*Access to 12x12 printer and oodles of fonts for your journaling needs

*Treats and sweets and yummies and goodies

*Wi-fi access through the Holiday Inn

*Water service

*Great Drawings
*Welcome gift

Those registering for the Early Bird crop will enjoy the extra time in the ScrapFest room.

REGISTERING TIPS
This event is a get-away to [hopefully] accomplish some good stuff. Because of that, this event is not meant for kids and families. That being said, we believe the ones who need the most break is sometimes those newer moms, so please only bring babies who will not be distracting to other scrappers who are also getting-away and/or those babies that rely on you for their nourishment.

On the registration form, there is a special spot for you to include special accommodations you may need. THIS would be the place to explain that you are bringing your computer and/or your own printer and need some outlet access, or that you're bringing a baby. Do you have any food allergies? THIS would be the place to tell us about them. It would also be the spot where you request what friends you want to sit with and/or special table arrangements you would prefer. I work really hard to address all those issues beforehand and it'll be extremely helpful to address these issues BEFORE the start of ScrapFest as opposed to once we're ready to begin the good times. All music will need to be through personal earphones if you don't want to listen to our playlist. HIGHLY recommend bringing your own extention cords this year as more people are doing digital scrapbooking or bringing their crafting appliances (sewing machines, etc.)

So, now that you've sent your payment through PayPal and completed your registration, it's time to make your hotel arrangements at the Holiday Inn in St. George. Line up some roomies or make your reservation and then convince some friends to register to split the cost. When making your hotel room reservation, call 1-435-628-4235 OR 1-800-457-9800 and make sure you make reference to the ScrapFest room rate, so you can get the best deal. Room registration should be made by January 15, 2011 to insure you get our super special rate. Too, Holiday Inn has a small workout facility, hot tub, and and heated indoor/outdoor pool for your enjoyment.

FINALLY, keep checking this blog. If there's any kind of update or information we need to share, it will be ON THIS BLOG. Leave comments or questions for me on this blog, too, and it'll be easier to get back to you . . . chances are if I've left something out others will be wanting to know the answer, too.

K. So, go register. And tell your friends. How fun is it to bring in new friends? It's what makes this trip SO MUCH FUN! Can't wait to see you there :)

ScrapFest 2010 Picture collage

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

There's something in the air? Oh, it's ScrapFest!

Oh my.

Ladies. It is SO close! I can smell the good times. I'm finding it hard to contain myself with ScrapFest looming so close.

Just a couple reminders:

Early Bird is on Friday from 10am until 4pm for those who have registered ONLY. If you would like to drop off your stuff at your table when you arrive (to avoid the annoying back and forth to your room), then please feel free to do so, HOWEVER, be conscious of your lingering if you didn't register for the Early Bird event.

At 5pm, it's every woman cropping for herself. We will have an official kick off at 8:00pm (UTAH TIME!!!) on Friday night where we'll have a couple give-aways and review some of the details of the weekend. It's also when we take a quick minute to introduce everyone. And did I mention there'll be some free stuff at the kick off? Yeah, there will be, so you won't want to miss it. Depending on when you arrive in St. George, you may want to consider eating AFTER the kick off OR make sure your all fed and energized for the long night BY 8:00pm.

We're doing the kick off a little earlier than in years past for a several reasons: A) some of you want to get a good night's rest and like to turn in earlier than later on your weekend away B) some of you want to catch a movie or get in some extra shopping C) Pebbles in My Pocket is open until 11pm and we want to make sure you have enough time to shop before they close on Friday night.

Pebbles in My Pocket has always been so supportive of ScrapFest and I HIGHLY recommend visiting the store (it's literally right across the street from the hotel). If my recommendation doesn't get you there, perhaps the 25% discount off everything will. They're ready for us, so make sure you stop by WITH your name tag to get the good deals.

Just a couple of more times you'll want to be aware of in case you're one of those in-and-out kind of gals:

  • Saturday at 11am we will do the drawing for the group lunch certificate (more details at the kick-off).
  • Saturday at 4pm we will give you tickets for your punch card (yeah, I know, details at the kick-off).
  • Saturday at 5pm we will be drawing the tickets for all the other give-aways and if you're NOT there, we will draw another ticket. We'll do our best to insure everyone has a chance to get back, but since some are driving home on Saturday night, please be considerate so we can do the drawings before dinner/drive time.
  • We have a special guest, Tracy, who will be selling THE cutest watches and watchbands for those of you who are interested. It's super convenient to have go home with something darling to wear even if you never want to leave ScrapFest.

I'm sure there's lots of things I am forgetting to remind you, SO make sure you're there at the kick-off FRIDAY at 8pm!!!

K. Gonna go upload some pictures. Have a great night ALL. Sweet ScrapFest dreams!

Let the People Come!

Alrighty Folks!
The end is drawing to a close of registration for ScrapFest Twenty Ten and I just want to remind y'all that ANYONE you refer to ScrapFest gets YOU extra chances to win some cool prizes.

This year we'll be giving *bonus* tickets for every person you refer to ScrapFest. And this year, you get to choose which prizes you're interested in. Perhaps you'd like your chance to win a CRICUT Expressions (oh yah baby! The big one!) or you'd like extra scrap supplies. We've got baskets-o-plenty and some options for the not-so-into-scrappin-just-here-for-the-good-time group too! It's all up to you where you take your chances. And I am pretty stoked about the fun stuff we have to give away. I think you will be too!

So, talk it up. Invite YOUR peeps. This is all about bringing your own posse for a great time for YOU. We'd love to have everyone you like :)

Get Your Game Face On!

(I'm not above pressuring you to register, Toni, by posting old pictures of you!)

Alright Folks . . . Time is ticking. ONE MONTH from today we will be whooping it up at the start of ScrapFest 2010 and can I tell you I am SOOO excited! I've been talking with some of the "old timers" and they've given me some FABULOUS ideas about giveaways and how to make it the best ScrapFest ever. I mean Ev-VER!

Just some housekeeping items:
CHECK the who's coming list to make sure I spelled your name right. You can leave a comment if you want me to change your name . . . but please let me know now since THAT will be what shows up on your nametag (which you'll WANT to wear, especially for the 25% off EVERYTHING discount we get at Pebbles in My Pocket IF you wear your so-spelled-right nametag). And it'd be awkward if we keep calling you Janice when your name is Janet.

Also, my super cool friend Belinda and her cool friend Melinda (I mean, HELLO!? Their names rhyme . . . how cool is that!?) are looking for a couple of wonderful ladies who want to room with them. And Belinda even told me she'd bring treats . . . who wouldn't want to room with her? Message me you're interested and I'll email you and her with your numbers so you can work out that sitch-e-a-tion.

Alright. Now. SINCE we are all REELING from the realization that ScrapFest is only a month away I have a challenge for you . . . organize your pictures. That's right. Get them printed this week. That's your starting place. And if you're not scrapping . . . start making your list of "things I want to do while everyone else is scrapbooking." You have a week to get this done. And I'm going to do it . . . I bet I find some winners that I totally forgot I had . . . because 2007 (which is HOW FAR BEHIND I AM~~~sheesh~~~) was a good year . . . I think :)
Oh, and pass the word along. Registration is open until the beginning of February!

Save Garth

So, you MIGHT be on this website looking to register for THE most fun event of 2010 (yeh, I'm confident to say that even though it's only in February) and this IS the place to do that. However, before you pay your $70.00, I'd like to encourage you to try to WIN a ScrapFest registration at the Save Garth auction found here.

Why would you want to do that? I moved to Las Vegas as a young gal and made some wonderful friends since I have lived here. The best part of Vegas (well, okay, there's a lot of good parts, but ONE of the best . . . ) is that after living here awhile, circles of friendships cross over and it's not too long before it seems everyone knows everyone. The Abbott family was in my LDS stake and their kids went to seminary and high school with me and my sister and even my brothers. When people talk about "good people," the Abbotts are them. Good peeps, all the way around. Their influence and love has been spread wide and generously. I have been blessed for knowing them.

Last week I was told that Daddy Garth Abbott has been diagonsed with a VERY aggressive form of Breast Cancer {IBS-inflammatory Breast Cancer}. Time is of the essence when it comes to his treatment and he needs to start chemo therapy AS SOON AS POOSIBLE. Garth is uninsured and does not have the means to pay for his treatments. Sadly, in our country, this means NO treatment. Garth's daughter-in-law (who, interestingly/circle-crossingly enough, was a new teacher when I was AND who I seemed to ALWAYS bump into at the Dr. when I was having my babies!) has started an auction to raise monies for Garth's treatment and I would like to help (and I am hoping you would too.)

I'm not sure what the auction will start at, but maybe you can score it for cheaper than the $70.00 if you just click on the button here. And IF you score it for more than $70.00, then you'll be blessed with not only the good times at ScrapFest, but knowing you helped a most wonderful family.

If you want to make sure you're registered, go ahead and click on the right bar where it says PAY HERE, but then check out Rachelle's blog to see what else you might want to bid on to benefit Garth. Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure when ScrapFest will be put on the auction block, but I know my sister's also donating her famous, scrumptious cinnamon rolls, so it's worth checking back there OFTEN!
